Death is the end of life on earth. Death is a consequence of man’s sin, and since all men have sinned, no one escapes death. But because of Jesus’ victory over death with his resurrection, all people who have died will be resurrected to either eternal life or eternal judgment. For those who believe in Jesus, eternal life in the presence of God awaits, but for those who do not believe in Jesus, the “second death” awaits; eternal death.
Bible Verses
“12Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—” (Ro 5:12)
“28Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.” (Jn 5:28–29)
“16“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn 3:16)
“21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.” (Php 1:21–23)
“14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Re 20:14–15)
“4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”” (Re 21:4)

“36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (Jn 3:36)
