God is not passive and distant, he is active and close and has the power to do whatever he wants. Throughout history he has done his work through the prophets, Israel, Jesus Christ, and today primarily through his church and individual believers. God acts here in the world by creating, judging, saving, helping and providing, among other things. God has commissioned the church to spread the Good News of Jesus and gives power and gifts to all who walk in his name. One day Jesus will come back and judge all people.
